En América Latina, las mujeres no solo están moldeando la música: están definiendo su futuro.

Para dar inicio a las celebraciones de EQUAL en la región y conmemorar el quinto aniversario del programa, Spotify presenta Spotify Sessions EQUAL Edition protagonizada por Mon Laferte. Inspirada en la estética del film noir, la sesión muestra a Mon asumiendo el rol de directora musical al frente de un ensamble integrado exclusivamente por mujeres, bajo la dirección visual de Magaly Ugarte. Más que una presentación en vivo, la sesión representa lo que EQUAL impulsa en 2026: mujeres ocupando espacios de liderazgo y toma de decisiones creativas en toda la industria musical.

En el corazón de la presentación hay un universo visual cinematográfico e inmersivo inspirado en el film noir clásico y en la aura de una femme fatale atemporal. Mon Laferte lidera un sublime ensamble de jazz conformado únicamente por mujeres, vestidas con elegancia formal que transmite fuerza, sofisticación y carácter en partes iguales. El resultado es íntimo y contundente: un escenario que parece suspendido entre el cine vintage y la identidad latinoamericana contemporánea.

Por primera vez Spotify Sessions, Mon asume un doble rol como artista y directora musical, moldeando los arreglos y liderando la interpretación desde dentro. La dirección visual está a cargo de la reconocida cineasta Magaly Ugarte, cuyo enfoque cinematográfico transforma luces, sombras y texturas sutiles en recursos narrativos. Cada encuadre refuerza la profundidad emocional y la intención creativa de la sesión.

A través de este poderoso equipo conformado exclusivamente por mujeres, que abarca músicos, producción y dirección creativa, la sesión honra a las mujeres latinoamericanas en cada capa del proceso artístico, amplificando su talento e impacto en todos los niveles.

“Cuando me invitaron a crear esta sesión, sentí que era la oportunidad perfecta para hacer algo diferente, no tocar las canciones tal y como son. Estar en este universo del jazz nos permitió improvisar y dejar que la música respirara de una nueva manera. Me gustó tanto que incluso me dieron ganas de llevar a esta banda de gira”, dijo Mon Laferte.

En esta Spotify Session, Mon Laferte revisita “Femme Fatale”, “Otra Noche de Llorar”, “Veracruz” “1:30” y “Melancolía”, reinterpretándolas con arreglos inspirados en el jazz que se mueven entre la vulnerabilidad y la fuerza contenida. La puesta en escena evoluciona con cada canción: luces íntimas, sombras en movimiento y una atmósfera cuidadosamente construida que difumina la línea entre concierto y pieza audiovisual.

En Colombia, esta propuesta artística conecta fuertemente con la audiencia. Actualmente, el país se posiciona como el mercado #4 que más escucha a Mon Laferte a nivel global, acumulando más de 79 millones de streams.
