👉🏻 Desde inicios del programa, la entidad financiera ha restaurado 133 hectáreas, alcanzado una captura potencial de 69 mil toneladas de CO₂.

Comprometido con la protección ambiental y el desarrollo sostenible, Banco de Bogotá avanza en un ambicioso programa de reforestación en reservas de Cundinamarca, Antioquia, Bolívar y la Amazonía colombiana- en los departamentos de Guainía y Vaupés. A la fecha, la iniciativa suma más de 143.000 árboles sembrados, restaurando una superficie comparable a 184 campos de fútbol profesional.
En alianza con la Fundación Saving the Amazon, y a través de la Tarjeta Débito Amazonía, la primera “tarjeta verde” del país se han plantado 97.036 árboles en la selva amazónica (Vaupés y Guainía) y 8.837 mangles en el Caribe colombiano, ecosistemas clave para la regulación climática y la conservación de la biodiversidad.
A su vez, junto con sus colaboradores, la entidad ha sembrado 37.540 especies nativas adicionales en Cundinamarca y Antioquia, reforzando la conectividad ecológica regional. En total, el programa proyecta una captura potencial de 69 mil toneladas de CO₂, equivalente a las emisiones anuales de más de 14.000 vehículos.
El programa también incorpora un sólido componente social: 23 comunidades indígenas y 316 familias reciben capacitación, ingresos y herramientas que impulsan su desarrollo y contribuyen a la superación de la pobreza. Destaca, además, su enfoque de género: el 60 % de las jornadas de siembra están lideradas por mujeres, quienes se empoderan como gestoras y primeras beneficiarias de los productos y servicios ecosistémicos generados por los árboles nativos que protegen cada día.

Con nuestro programa de reforestación restauramos ecosistemas estratégicos y, al mismo tiempo, creamos oportunidades sociales en los territorios. Así fortalecemos un modelo de negocio que genera valor ambiental y social de manera tangible”, afirmó Diana Barón, directora de Finanzas Sostenibles del Banco de Bogotá.
Con esta iniciativa, Banco de Bogotá contribución a varios Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible —entre ellos Acción por el Clima (ODS 13), Vida de Ecosistemas Terrestres (ODS 15), Fin de la Pobreza (ODS 1), Trabajo Decente (ODS 8), Hambre Cero (ODS 2) y Equidad de Género (ODS 5)—, reafirmando su compromiso con el planeta y con las generaciones presentes y futuras.
