La libertad es para los valientes

En los años 60, el espíritu familiar de una comunidad de motociclistas en Chicago da un giro inesperado, hacia un mundo de brutalidad e ilegalidad, donde los caminos que alguna vez fueron sinónimo de unidad y libertad, ahora podrían resultar funestos para todo aquel con chaqueta de cuero. El Club de los Vándalos (The Bikeriders), una nueva película distribuida por 20th Century Studios, brinda un vistazo a aquellos que hicieron de dos ruedas el único propósito y motor de sus vidas.

Una sinopsis oficial de El Club de los Vándalos dicta lo siguiente (vía Collider):

“Kathy, miembro de los Vandals y casada con un motociclista salvaje y temerario llamado Benny, relata la evolución de los Vandals a lo largo de una década, desde sus inicios como un club local de forasteros unidos por los buenos tiempos, las motos ruidosas y el respeto por su líder, Johnny.

A lo largo de los años, Kathy intenta por todos los medios lidiar con la naturaleza indómita de su marido y su lealtad a Johnny, con quien siente que debe competir por la atención de Benny. Y a medida que la vida en los Vandals se vuelve más peligrosa y el club amenaza con convertirse en una banda más siniestra, Kathy, Benny y Johnny se ven obligados a tomar decisiones sobre su lealtad al club y entre ellos”.

El guión fue escrito por Jeff Nichols (Loving) quien asimismo funge como director de este drama criminal. Se trata de una historia ficcional inspirada en el libro The Bikeriders (1968), que reúne imágenes y anécdotas recopiladas por el fotógrafo neoyorquino Danny Lyon durante su larga convivencia con motociclistas fuera de la ley que inundaron el Medio Oeste estadounidense en la década de los sesenta.

El Club de los Vándalos está protagonizada por la nueva estrella Austin Butler (Elvis, Duna: Parte Dos), Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Tom Hardy (Peaky Blinders), Mike Faist (Desafiantes) y Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead).
